Unified television camera. Modification UTC-UV2 (without lens) is designed to convert an optical image in the UV region of the spectrum into a television signal in a wide range of irradiance. It is a photodetector unit consisting of a solar-blind image intensifier tube, sensitive to ultraviolet radiation, connected via a fiber-optic element to an array CCD for radiation recording. This solution increases the sensitivity of the device by an order of magnitude, which allows for an increased detection range of UV radiation sources.
Due to high degree of blocking radiation in the visible spectrum, the camera is able to reproduce weak radiation in the UV spectrum against the background of a visible image, which allows for monitoring UV radiation sources with determination of their geolocation.
UTC-UV2 can operate both in continuous video surveillance mode and in single frame recording mode triggered by an external sync pulse.
Application: recording single-photon events; luminescence and fluorescence studies; highly sensitive microscopy; recording gas and air ionization; recording power losses on power lines; in agriculture for assessing plant maturation and infection.
